ABOUT OUR BUTTER POWDER

  • Dietary Considerations: kosher

  • Two Available Sizes:
    • Net Weight: 2 oz | 57 g
    • Net Weight: 8 oz | 227 g

  • Characteristics:
    • powdered

Butter powder is not intended to replace spreadable butter. Because oil can't be dehydrated, it's main purpose is to replace the flavor of butter in dry mixes.

However, we've been able to make a creamy butter spread that works reasonably well on toast or biscuits. We recommend mixing 2½ teaspoons of our butter powder with 1 teaspoon of cool water and ¼ teaspoon of olive oil or canola oil. Blending with a whisk works best for a truly creamy texture, but beating it with a fork works just fine too. Makes about 1½ teaspoons of spreadable butter - enough for a couple of good buttery biscuits.

Butter powder does not need to be refrigerated, however, once reconstituted into a spread it will need to be kept in a reasonably cool location.

frequently asked questions

How long will this butter keep after it is opened and will it need refrigeration?

If your package of butter powder is sealed and stored in a cool, dry and dark location then it will remain edible until the 'best by' date stamped on the package. Once the butter is rehydrated, we recommend refrigerating is as you would normal store bought butter.

How many tablespoons are in a 2 ounce packet of butter powder?

There are 12 tablespoons of powdered butter in a 2 ounce package. When rehydrated this makes 6 tablespoons of butter.
